Established originally in the 1970’s and then reformed in 1999, Dare Valley Branch is part of Area 10 and has approximately 40 members. We meet regularly throughout the year, weather permitting, at Gelli Isaf Field, located between Llwydcoed and Trecynon. Rallies are held on Sunday mornings from October to April, and additional rallies are held on Tuesday evenings from April to September. We believe Pony Club should be interactive, informative and fun and work together to ensure our rallies cover a range of activities, including schooling, show jumping, cross country and mounted games. These rallies prove to be popular with members of all ages and the “rally refreshments” always go down well! We also encourage our members to suggest any changes, improvements etc they would like to see and any new activities they would like to try. As a result, we have recently introduced Le Trec and basic dressage for those who are interested. During the winter, we try not to let the weather beat us and arrange some additional indoor rallies if possible and use schools rather than our field, as well as holding “badge day” rallies where members give their own ponies a day off and work towards their badges at a local yard on a few obliging ponies, practicing their grooming, plaiting, bandaging etc.
